Goulburn-Murray Water - Goulburn bulk entitlement amendment application
On 7 March 2012, the Hon. Peter Walsh MLA, Minister for Water approved Goulburn-Murray Water’s application to amend its Bulk Entitlement (Eildon – Goulburn Weir) Conversion Order 1995. The amendments provide increased clarity and transparency around how the Goulburn system is managed and operated, including:
- quantifying irrigation distribution system operating water and provisions for its progressive allocation during the season
- defining the conditions around pre-releasing water from Lake Eildon
- defining the volume of dead storage in the headworks storages to assist in any future negotiations about its use
- providing flexibility for passing flow management, particularly under dry conditions
- providing explicit description of the seasonal determinations process in the Goulburn system
- defining the conditions around use of the Goulburn Water Quality Reserve.
The approved Bulk Entitlement (Eildon-Goulburn Weir) Amendment Order 2012 was published in the Government Gazette on 22 March 2012 and can be viewed or downloaded from the Victorian Water Register.
